Hey guys! I just saw the trailer for this new show "Switched at Birth" and I was really excited to see that one of the main characters is deaf!!!

I saw that as well!!! I looked it up on imdb.com and I couldnt find if she is really Deaf or not, but the wording made it seem like she isnt. She has played a Deaf person before, but I dont think she is. I still love that it will be on ABC family and that the signs are real at least. The word will get out there!

ReplyDeleteI saw a brief preview for that but I didn't realize there was a deaf character in the show. From what I found the actress herself isn't deaf. There is also going to be an interpreter on the show so that will be cool to see how the whole dynamic works out. I always find it interesting reading captions for ASL since I actually know what they're saying.

ReplyDeleteI saw this the other day and I thought it looked really cool. I just wish that the character who is playing the girl who lost hearing was really deaf. I think that would make it a lot better, but it is still cool that there is going to be sign and such on it. I can't wait to see it.

ReplyDeleteI think this will be a great show to play, especially since it is on such a big TV station and should get a lot of attention. It will open peoples eyes to something that not many TV shows or movies talk about, and that is Deafness. I'm very excited for this show to start!

ReplyDeleteI really hope this show actually happens. I've been waiting and waiting to watch my Deaf Family and it seems like it's never going to air, so hopefully this one will actually happen!

ReplyDeleteWow this show looks like it is going to be really good. I just hope it airs and gets positive results unlike that other Deaf drama series that never made it on tv because of the low ratings. I think it was called "My Deaf Family" or something. Can't wait to watch this show though!

ReplyDeleteI didn't know she wasn't deaf. That's a little disappointing, but I'll still watch it anyway. Maybe if the show takes off they can get more deaf characters, with actual deaf people playing them or something :P
