Marlee Matlin plays the lead role, along with many other Deaf actors - it's practically a whole Deaf cast!
It's a really great episode and it'll blow your mind :) there are captions available under the "other" button toward the bottom right of the video.

Wow! Thanks for sharing this! I missed this episode, but it truly is amazing! I loved it. I loved the beginning as they had the music playing with the signs of vibrations. Great Episode!

My ASL teacher made watching CSI our homework for the weekend. It was really cool. I knew they had a Spanish and French Sign Language but I had never put much thought into how deaf people in ancient civilizations communicated.
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting this! I did watch the episode and really enjoyed it. I think it was most enlightening for my parents to watch the show. They had many questions, which sparked into a few debates. :o)
ReplyDeleteThanks for posting it! It looks like a great episode..I wish there were more deaf acting shows!
ReplyDeleteI couldn't wait to get home last week in time to watch the episode. It was fantastic! Like Amy's parents, my parents had several questions after watching it and it was a good experience for me to be able to share a little bit of knowledge I have with them.
ReplyDeleteIt was a great episode. It felt good to understand some of what was going on with the deaf characters. I learned some new technology used in the deaf culture and I hope they deaf characters were really deaf along with Marlee. The character of the director who was bombed, I recognized him from some of our deaf videos in past ASL classes. Marlee loves to play an aggressive sassy type of role.
ReplyDeleteI loved watching this episode. I even had my boyfriend watch it with me. I like for him to know and understand what it is that I plan on doing for the rest of my life. Also it gives him a chance to learn and be exposed to the Deaf world. I had some people come and ask me if what the interpreter was saying matched what they were really signing. I told them yes. I thought it was funny though that they would ask me if the interpreter was right. I'm glad that they had a Deaf cast. I think that gave the show more insight to the Deaf community. In how they are a close related group. I just really enjoy watching ASL and trying to expose other to Deaf culture.
